Who We Are

Delayed but not Denied

The NGO is birthed to support young /teenage mothers between 13-21 years  in Uganda cope with the life changing blessing of having a child and being equipped and empowered to live a purposeful life fulfilling their dreams and goals again alongside preparing for the well-being of their child. Therefore, this project aims at supporting young mothers towards emotional healing, pursuing their goals and dreams to attain financial stability alongside grooming their children; address the issue of poor standards of living among  young mothers, lack of socio-emotional support, encourage family planning,  reduce the risk of fistula, lack of parental skills, stigma and reduce early pregnancy.

Vision: To Support young mothers between the ages of 13-21 years in Uganda towards Self-Reliance by equipping them with vocational skills, purposeful living and become potential parents in a period of one year.



AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  1. To promote social emotional healing within young mothers: So that they realize their self-worth and acknowledge the fact that their lives dint stop with giving birth. So that they are also able to forgive themselves and accept their children as blessing that they are, to care for them and shower them with love and care. To encourage purposeful living: To encourage them to stop practicing risky behaviors like prostitution, alcohol, use of drugs, crime and so on. And to empower them to make right decisions for themselves and their children at the right time.

  2. To support young mothers towards self-reliance by equipping them with vocational skills and providing them with start-up capital: They will first go back school/ vocational institutions according to what each desires to learn and do and acquire skills and start up business, so that they can provide for themselves and their children the basic needs of life and also foster their development. This will be done through daily mentor-ship and step by step guidance of the administrator and organization manager.

  3. To build young mothers into responsible parents: By empowering them to be productive and responsible parents so that they can give their children better parenthood than they received.

  4. To Create Young Mothers' Support/Focus groups where they can support and support each other

  5. To Raise awareness about the Reproductive System and Family Planning methods
